Eggsellant Challenge

Happy Easter everyone!

It's challenge time again over at Polkadoodles and I thought I'd share my DT creation with you. I've used the 'oh so useful' Cherryblossom Lane and created a scene in my graphics programme then printed it off onto water coloured card. I then took the fab freebie Tatty Twinkle Easter digi coloured it with my Graph'it markers, raised on foam pads to add a bit of depth. I've kept to quite a clean and simple design as to be honest I didn't wish to over crowd the delightful scene.

Animal Magic

It's mid challenge time over at Polkadoodles Challenge Blog and this is a reminder to join in and show us your gorgeous  'Animal Magic'. I used the very ueseful All Around & Everywhere Cd and chose Sally Snail from the 'Get In Shape' section there are plenty of options for you to choose from and it's just a case of printing off and putting together all I did was add a bit of sparkle.

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenge.

Vellum Rose Tutorial

I've been asked a few times lately how I make my vellum roses so thought I'd put together a quick photo heavy tutorial for you to follow.

1. You will need.

Scalloped circle punch
Scissors
Dries clear glue
Vellum, paper or felt

2. Punch out four flowers.

3. Now cut into the flowers as per photo, the first one is just snipped to the centre the second, one petal cut out, the third two petals. Until you are left with this...

4. You then need to add glue to one petal on each piece.

5. Making each one into a cone shape it gets a little fiddly the smaller you get.

6. Now leave the biggest layer whole but snip the bottoms off the remaining five pieces.

7. Now put your thumb into the biggest layer and squash it down to give it a flat bottom.

8. Now put a dollop of 'dries clear' glue into the base.

9. Now use the second biggest layer, shape the petals a little with your fingers and place it into the glue.

10. Repeat this process putting layer after layer inside each other adding a little more glue each time.

11. When you get down to the last petal you may find it easier to glue the layer you're inserting

12. That's all there is to it. If you get various sized punches your roses will obviously end up different sizes but please bear in mind the small ones are very fiddly.

Thanks for stopping by I hope I've helped some of you on your way to making your own flowers.

Tatty Twinkle Birthday Wishes

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday dear Jan
Happy Birthday to you.....

I used my brand new Tatty Twinkles stamp (designed by the uber talented Nikky Hall) to make a birthday card for my 'Crafty' mate.

I decided to make her a circular card which I cut using the fab new xcut large circle dies & lopped to bottom off so it'd stand up covered it with an inked doily. Die cut and embossed some lilac shimmer card and added some gemstones around the edge. This was then mounted onto my card using foam tape to give dimension.

Okay now onto the image it was stamped with momento and coloured in with my beloved Graph'its. Skin, 4124, 4155, 4170, 4175.
Hair, 3210, 3245, 3250, 3270.
Bow, 7210, 7220, 7240, 7250.
Clothing, 6110, 6120, 6130 & blender
Socks & Shoes, 9501, 9502, 9503, 9504
I then inked around the edge using Milled Lavender distress ink & stuck her on my card. Then it was just the finishing touches. A tattered lace flourish, some handmade flowers, die cut leaves & butterfly and stamped sentiment. Well I best not hang around here all day it still needs to be posted if she's to receive it on time.
