Box Frame Butterfly

This week for my Inky Pinky DT make I decided to see what would happen if I took my pencils to printable canvas paper. I printed off a butterfly digi from Winnie Fruit Punch and set to work. After one colour I really wasn't sure how it was going to work....

Although if you keep going it really does turn into a beautiful butterfly. I'm really liking the finished result, so much so I have it on display in my lounge. Don't give up folks keep on plugging away.

Here are the colours used for those that wish to know (084, 083, 082, 080, 076, 075, 002)

Swirls & Flourishes

Happy Friday everyone. It's mid challenge inspiration time over at Polkadoodles and for my make this week I used the very resourceful Lavender CD collection. I created a decorative mat in my graphics programme by duplicating one of the gorgeous swirly panels found in the embellies section and blinged it up with some stickles and gemstones. The butterfly was duplicated
three times and shaped and layered up then sprayed with glitter and gemstones added. I copied & pasted one of the sentiments onto the cute little tag & glued those to the mat using silicone glue. Then it was just a case of assembling my card. I printed off some backing paper from the collection and inked around the edge. I then wrapped some green ribbon around the middle but it was a little bit garish so to tone it down a bit I added some off white lace. I then cut out some ornate 'tuck in'  butterflies using a contrasting card stock then using foam tape I raised the centre piece up. I do hope you like it.

On your Engagement

I was over the moon on Thursday afternoon when my best friend phoned me from a mini break with her husband, daughter, boyfriend and grandson to inform me of her daughter's engagement. so of course I had to make a card and this is what I came up with......

I printed one image out complete with the sentiment and sized it in my graphics program then printed the digi out two more times and coloured them up with my pencils (heart, 021, 024, 026, 001, blue bird, 046, 047, 048, 049, 001, pink bird, 029, 028, 027, 001). my first layer was cut out with my pin dot square die and layered onto a slightly larger black mat, the second layer I fussy cut the two birds  and the final layer consisted of both wings and the two little hearts which were coloured with a red glitter pen. Clean and simple but cute and made with love.

Congratulations Dan & Bex

Stamp Soup with Lyra

My Inky Pinkie DT creation for this week is another CAS design (I'm really getting into these) this time I used my brand new Stamp Soup stamps and I masked each of the first 4 petals off as I stamped them to build up the main flower, I then added the stalk and one petal for a bud. Then around the outside I used the little centre pieces as a pattern, leaving space for the sentiment. They're coloured in with my Lyra pencils (petals 006, 007, 008, 009, 013, 027, 028, 029, stem, 068, 070, 071) not that the picture does it justice but I did go all over the image with my new Spectrum Sparkle clear pens.

In the Pink

Instead of colouring up a character this week I thought I'd try some flowers for my Inky Pinkies DT make. In Polkadoodles latest 'Lavender Tea' collection there are some wonderful florals and I've been itching to have a go with the blank/white ones... I decided to mix it up a bit with this card, the backing paper and sentiment are from the equally as lush, bright and summery 'Lemonade Fizz'

This time round I opted for pink (petals, 029, 028, 027, leaves, 068, 070, 071) I tend to work in three's so, three layers in three different sizes, shaped and layered & mounted onto one of the leaf sprays. Sprayed with a bit of glitter and finished off with card candi & gemstones. I hope you like it?

Now I have a never ending supply of blank, floral digi's all I need to decide on is a colour scheme...

Oranges & Lemons

This week I made an A5 tent fold card for my Inky Pinkies DT piece. I started by colouring up the stunning 'One for You' digi from the lush, Winnie 'Fruit Punch' collection, colouered her up with my pencils and then cut her out using a decorative die and inked a bit of yellow onto the embossed areas. She's raised onto foam pads and mounted onto the other decorative die.

The backing paper used is from the collection I just cut it to size and layered it onto the orange mat and wrapped the lemon ribbon around. Stuck that to my card blank and then added my decorative topper et voila!

Floral Frenzy

There's a brand new challenge starting over at Polkadoodles this fortnight we want to see flowers and plenty of em! I've used one of the new collections, Lavender Tea and printed a few pages of flowers out, cut, inked the edges shaped and layered them and arranged them around one of the wonderful sentiments from the collection. There's plenty of dimension on this card. I think I'll need to make a box to put it in.

Friendship

Here's a card I made for my dear friend Jan she's a fellow crafter who I met through social media and we have gone on to become very good friends. I was looking through my files and came up with this image from Polkadoodles it's from the Cherryblossom Lane Collection. The image is coloured up with my pencils and layered up with my lovely new tattered lace dies, cut from card stock & papers from my stash. I'm quite liking this colour combo. What do you think?

An Explosion of Colour

Morning everyone. I know my blog posts are a bit like buses ....... I decided to challenge myself a little bit with this weeks colouring for my Inky Pinkies post. I used a cute little (hidden gem) from All Around and Everywhere (Polkadoodles) which is currently on special offer HERE. I coloured her up using a combination of my alcohol markers and glitter pens and instead of making a card I decided to create a rather bold and colourful tag.

What do you think?

Cream & Sugar

I've kind of got myself into a CAS mode at the moment, I need to try something a little different for next week but for my Polkadoodle DT inspiration post I got my pencils out onto some cream, linen textured card stock and am rather pleased with the result!
